Upon traveling to Curacao, don't be surprised to hear people saying "Bonbini" to you! This means "Welcome" in the language called Papiamento, which is a mixture of the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French, English, and Arawak Indian languages. The largest island of the Netherlands Antilles is full of exciting travel activities and interesting sights like the many markets, coral reefs, underground and underwater caves, golden beaches, remarkable fishing, championship golf, a great nightlife.

The island's gentle, leisurely lifestyle, and storybook towns hint of its Dutch roots of this tropical retreat. Discovered in 1499 by a lieutenant of Christopher Columbus, it was declared useless because there was no gold.

Today, leisure boats fill the waters and the idyllic climate and landscape are their own kind of gold. The miles of golden beaches and palm trees, the Dutch ambiance of the capital Willemsted, soca, meringue, and tambu music, and festivals give Curacao a dual personality of European manners, Caribbean style.

Dive Into Paradise With David & Sunshine We are located in Westpunt, out in the country at the west end of the island. Not much here but nature's beauty, rolling hills and an azure blue sea. Enjoy the sunset every night and then an abundance of stars without any city lights to diminish their brightness. From the apartment you can often see dolphins in the bay, goats meandering down the road and flocks of parakeets flying overhead. We think the best beaches, snorkeling, diving, hiking and mountain biking are at this end of the island. There are 3 beaches and Ocean Encounters West Dive Shop within a short walk from the house. David has cleared miles of trails out in the mondi for you to explore by foot or by bike.

Acosta_Villa_Groot_Santa_Martha_Curacao.
Acosta Villa is a magnificent villa designed in Mediterranean style, with private swimming pool, bay and ocean view. This enormous property is perfect for a group or big family. This villa is located at Groot Santa Martha, approximately 15 miles from the airport, 25 miles from downtown, and only minutes from Christoffel Park, a protected wildlife preserve and garden covering 4,500 acres of land and featuring great hiking, mountain biking, car tours and nature walks. Picturesque mountains, bays, cliffs and quiet waters surround this location on Curacao's Gold Coast. It's best suited for people who enjoy a quiet and laid back atmosphere.

This gorgeous house is brand new and is located in Sunset Heights. Sunset Heights is one of the new gated communities in the outskirts of Willemstad. It is a private community on the top of a hill, close to the north side of the island. This location is ideal for people who would like to stay close to the city center (15 minutes by car). From several parts in the house you will have a beautiful sea view.

Vista_Al_Mar_I_Coral_Estate_Curacao.
These hilltop houses with spectacular ocean view are located on a private and secluded waterfront estate, at Rif St. Marie on the western side of Curacao. This location is just a short 20 minutes drive from the airport and 25 minutes from town center. The beach (a coral beach, excellent for snorkeling and diving) on property is less than 10 minutes walk or less than 5 minutes drive. There are two larger beaches within 10 minutes drive from this location.

Casa_Azul_Coral_Estate_Curacao.
Marie on the western side of Curacao. This location is just a short 20 minutes drive from the airport and 25 minutes from town center. The beach (a coral beach, excellent for snorkeling and diving) on property is less than 10 minutes walk or less than 5 minutes drive. There are two larger beaches within 10 minutes drive from this location. The house with private pool is located on the second line. This means that it is not located directly waterfront, but across the street from the shoreline. However, from the pool deck you are able to see the ocean.
